Spiders
Scientific Name: Class Arachnida
Characteristics and General Information: Spiders are a beneficial part of our environment. They provide pest control in the most natural form by feeding on flies, ants and other insects. Although most are harmless, they are not often welcomed house guests.
Control: Due to basic spider biology, complete elimination of this critter is unlikely with one single application. Therefore, we call our services for spiders Spider Reduction Services. However, when we combine changes to conducive conditions with material applications, most homes will experience little to no spider activity year-round.
They are not social insects and rarely encounter each other. Therefore, material application must affect each spider individually at the time of treatment. This also requires a stronger emphasis on controlling conditions in and around your home. We will take measures to reduce current spider populations with material application. However, there are also measures that you will need to take as well to achieve optimal, long term control.
Ongoing Control and Prevention: Your pest control technician will be able to make additional recommendations. For example, they will suggest steps that you can take to make your house less attractive to a spider. It will also be very important to maintain control of ants and other insects. You can do this through ongoing insect preventative treatments, as those are their primary food source.
