      Of the companies I called to receive quotes for an ant issue in our home (and quarterly preventative services), I was extremely pleased with this company, especially the professionalism and honesty of Steve, the owner. In the end, I ended up choosing a different company (one run by a neighbor, it doesn't get much more local than that!), but Venables was a VERY close second. Their prices were competitive and Steve was very knowledgeable. When I explained that I would likely cancel our scheduled appointment to go with my neighbor's company, Steve's kind words about the other company's owner (whom he knew from working in the business for many years) blew me away, what a stand up guy! Not too many people would offer praise for their competitors at the cost of their own business. If for some reason my neighbor's company doesn't work out, I will be back to this company in a heartbeat as Steve has earned my trust.

      It all started out when our tenants complained of a dead animal smell whenever they turned on the heat. We first called an HVAC company but after I explained what our tenants were smelling, they recommend that we call a pest control company to first investigate. I called Eden's pest control & told them that we thought that maybe a rodent had gotten into the heating system just based on what our tenants had told us. Eden's immediately said that they were not authorized to go into the heating ducts and told me so sorry but they couldn't help me. I was beside myself and I felt like I was going in a circle between company's who didn't want to investigate or help us out.

      A friend recommended that I call Venables Pest management because they heard great things about the company & customer service. I called and explained the situation and they said that they would be happy to send someone out for a free estimate to investigate and see what was going on. Within less than a week an inspector from Venables coordinated with our tenants and they went under the house into the crawl space to investigate. It turns out that gray water had been slowly leaking under our house in addition to a couple of open access points for rodents (in addition to finding a nest and a dead rodent body or two). They not only took care of the gray water problem by putting down absorbent that was the cause of the smell, but they want above and beyond and came back a week later to check out to see that it worked. They replaced the screens and secured the access points so that no future rodents could move in.

      My husband received great customer service from Alex the Customer Service Manager, and whenever I called I as well received polite and prompt customer service. I found Venables to think outside of the box and they went to great lengths to make sure that we were happy with the service that was provided to us. I would recommend Venables because they are problem solvers & will get the job done.

      We have been using Venables Pest Management for three years now. They are amazing. Great customer service and pest free for three years straight!
      I imagine pest management is a tough business to be in. If they do their job right (and they do!) the customer doesn't see any evidence of their work. You don't see any pests ....so you think "hmm, maybe I don't need a pest service anymore". If we see a hornets nest or ants in the driveway, they are there the next day, even between service calls, to take care of the problem. We haven't had a single mouse, ...ever! (And we live in the country surrounded by horse pasture, creeks and fields (mouse habitat). Venables Pest Management does their job extremely well!
      Today, "Gene" from Venables was out for our quarterly service. He was very professional and took the time to go over the service with me. I work from home and so could see him walking around the house and carefully moving patio furniture as he went about the service. He was being thorough and respectful of our property. This type of courteous, knowledgeable employee is what makes Venables so awesome!

      Our realtor recommended Venables Pest Management to inspect the crawl space of a home that we were planning to buy in Olympia. Jeff Duran of Venables was out within three days to complete a free inspection.  Jeff not only thoroughly inspected the crawl space of the house but immediately afterwards gave us a detailed inspection report and a cost estimate of recommended repairs.  Jeff also answered several questions we had about the work needed to prevent future pest problems.

      We purchased the house early September and Venables put us on their schedule the following week.  Venables cleaned out the crawl space of all rodent debris, set traps, and built doors or screens to close off every opening on the exterior of the house that could allow rodents and similar pests to enter the crawl space.  Venables sent a pest inspector out three more times at no extra charge to check the traps for rodents.  The traps were removed on the third visit after no additional rodent activity had been found.

      We found each of the members of the Venables team that we worked with to be professional, prompt, and informative at all times. We highly recommend Venables Pest Management to anyone who has problems with pesky unwanted creatures in any part of their home.

      I took a lot of time to look into which company had the best experience, track record and customer service. Without a doubt, in our area, it was Venables Pest Management. I had multiple people come out and look at the property just to be proactive in the quotes/experience and when Venables came out... the difference of quality of knowledge and customer service was truly evident. Kevin is who came out initially and assessed our carpenter ant issue. He is extremely personable but equally professional and knowledgeable. He had patience to answer all of my questions and did so very thoroughly. There was a question about the ant issue (which kind they were) so he took a sample back to his office and then even sent a supervisor out to look at the situation as an extra set of eyes and they came back letting us know it was a duel bug issue.  This was something the other company missed but when I pointed it out to them they agreed it was the correct call! Venables was able to book service at a competitive (and lower) price than the other people. They were able to do same week service.  Unlike the other company, Kevin and Sean were both early. They both called ahead to check in.  And when one of the appointments had to be pushed slightly later in the day, he was prompt to check in and make sure that would be fine. Sean is the one that came out and performed the actual spraying around our house. He was also very professional and knowledgeable. I just appreciated everything about this company from beginning to end! The office and the people in the field seem to work seamlessly.  They got back to us when they said they would. They are quick and efficient. I just have nothing but positive things to say about this experience!

      We've used Venables for years now and have always had great service. We originally used them to control insect pests like termites and carpenter ants. Then a few years ago rats invaded Thurston county and we added an additional service for rodent control.

      Now I know we think it takes one trapping to control pests but that isn't the case. It's an ongoing process so we have quarterly service. And what we actually purchase is the confidence that our home and yard is relatively free of pests of all sorts. I trust this company as they show up on time, are professional in every way, and follow my desires regarding trapping and the use of pest control products.

      I'm super happy with the service I received. I've had odorous ants popping up here and there in my home. They came out to do an assessment (the technician came on time!) and gave me a bid and suggested things I should do. He (darn it I wish I could remember his name) also found a had a leaking pipe under the house) just for my information.  He also suggested since the previous homeowner used their services for rodent control that they put out bait traps under the house. No extra charge. I reviewed the bid, and he called the office to book the appointment before he left which was great for me since I didn't have to bother with making a call to them again to schedule. I didn't feel pressured at all, just appreciated the convenience.
      Peter arrived for my next appointment 15 minutes early!  I know, right? He told me what he was going to do, explained it thoroughly and what I should expect and look out for in the next couple weeks.  Again, no pressure. I felt very comfortable in this whole transaction and will certainly keep Venables on my speed dial.

      We chose Venables because we had heard that they offer non-toxic rat management, and, when a rat showed up in our church kitchen, we called them. They came the same day(!), and, the next day, brought in several traps. Because we are a church, I expressed concern that, if the rat was caught on a Friday, pick-up of the dead rat would not be until Monday morning, and we would have to live with a rat corpse over the weekend. Our Venables rep, in response, gave us his cell phone number in case that should happen. Well, as predicted, the rat was caught that very evening (a Friday), and I called Chris, our rep. Within the hour, he was there, despite the fact that it was about 7 PM on Friday. He took care of the rodent, and we were SOOOOO thankful! We are very impressed by their customer service and will DEFINITELY continue  to use them!

      My wife and I have a service contract with Venables and they're always pleasant and accommodating. Recently a neighbor complained about rats in our wood pile. I called and got an appointment a week out (they're pretty busy, probably because they're well regarded in the area). I asked for advice on what to do in the interim, because they're RATS (ugh). Brent called back later that day and offered to come by the next day as he would be in the general area. He did just that and it didn't cost anything because we had an ongoing service contract. We don't always expect next day service, but really appreciate his willingness to jump right on the problem. I've had really good interactions with other Venables employees as well, they're always willing to take time to discuss specific issues. Highest recommendation!
